The technical specifications of release paper are the following, dry silicon coating amount, room temperature peel force, aging peel force and residual adhesion rate.

The amount of dry silicon coating is the amount of release agent applied to the material in grams per square meter. Generally, the coating amount of the solvent-based silicone oil ranges from 0.30 to 0.80 grams per square meter, and the coating amount of the solventless silicone oil ranges from 0.80 to 1.30 grams per square meter. Need professional testing equipment to test the amount of coating.

Silicone oil coating directly affects the peel performance. Higher coating capacity, can densely cover the base paper to ensure uniform distribution of silicone oil. The lower amount of silicone oil is prone to slippery and other phenomena, resulting in poor peeling. Some release coating suppliers reduce the amount of silicone oil applied, resulting in a tendency to delaminate to produce heavy release paper that is quite risky to use.

Reliable manufacturers do not reduce the amount of silicone coating on the premise, through the adjustment of chemical formula to adjust the peel force. This is a technical accumulation that takes a considerable amount of time, not a one-time effort.

Room temperature peel force, peel force data obtained by standard test methods at room temperature, the unit is N / 25mm, can be converted into how many grams.

General 0.10N / 25mm, that is, the peeling force of 10 grams or less, commonly known as light stripping;

0.20N / 25mm, that is, the peeling force of 20 grams or less, commonly known as stripping;

0.35 ~ 0.45N / 25mm, that is, 35 to 45 grams of peel force, commonly known as heavy peel;

0.60 ~ 0.80N / 25mm, 60 ~ 80 grams of peel force, commonly known as heavy peel;

Of course, there are 0.03 ~ 0.04N / 25mm, that is, 3 to 4 grams of peel force, commonly known as gently stripping;

There are also 1.00N / 25mm, that is more than 100 grams of peel force, commonly known as overweight peel.

Aging peel force, measured by the peel force after aging data, the general peel force at room temperature slightly larger.

Residual adhesion rate, refers to the release paper after the first stripping, the second stripping force, the calculated data, mainly reflects the effect of silicone oil curing.

The residual adhesion of the UV curable silicone oil is generally 100%, and the residual adhesion of the thermoset silicone oil is up to 90%. If a few suppliers claim that their own release paper residual adhesion rate of 100%, then suspicious. In the event of desilication, the residual adhesion of such release papers will generally not be higher than 70%.

Testing of release paper specifications is a fairly complicated project. General electronics factory, tape factory can only test a few data. As for the amount of silicone coating, generally does not appear in the release coating supplier's technical report.
